Site Lead / Project Manager – Canada

Location: Canada (Nationwide Travel Required)

The Site Lead / Project Manager is responsible for supervising on-site activities, coordinating crews, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining communication with store management, external stakeholders, and internal teams. This role involves extensive travel, working nights, and managing multiple priorities in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage renovation projects in major retail locations across Canada.
  • Lead and supervise crews ranging from 4 to 15 members, including unionized carpenters, electricians, fire suppression technicians, non-union merchandisers, and local temporary workers.
  • Oversee quality control and ensure adherence to project timelines and standards.
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for local store management, external stakeholders, and internal support teams.
  • Ensure all work complies with WHMIS Legislation, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Provincial Construction Acts, and local Fire and Building Codes.
  • Provide hands-on leadership—actively participating in fixture installation, merchandising, and site setup tasks.
  • Work safely at heights and use appropriate safety equipment and procedures.
  • Manage daily reporting, scheduling, and project documentation using computer-based tools.
  • Lead by example to foster teamwork, safety, and professionalism on-site.
  • Adapt to frequent changes in locations, project scope, and customer needs while maintaining high performance and morale.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing construction or renovation projects in retail environments.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-trade crews (union and non-union).
  • Ability to travel nationwide and work primarily night shifts.
  • Hands-on experience in fixture installation, merchandising, or related construction activities.
  • Comfortable working at heights and performing physical tasks.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with computers for scheduling, reporting, and communication.
  • Adaptable, reliable, and able to make sound decisions under pressure.
